As a Medical Interpreter with Banner Staffing Services, you will be an important part of the healthcare team, providing English/Spanish interpretation services for patients/companions with limited English proficiency that we encounter throughout the hospital, including patient/provider communication. You will be involved during every aspect of the patient stay, from registration to discharge. Effective communications skills and knowledge of medical terminology is required.
Completion of a Medical Interpreter training program highly preferred
One year work experience as a Medical Interpreter required
Written and oral language assessment will be required

Registry/Per Diem positions do not have guaranteed hours and no medical benefits package is offered. Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check (includes; employment, criminal and education) is required.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides interpretation for Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients and their families. This position acts as a neutral party in the role as a conduit of information between healthcare providers and patients and families.
Bachelor’s degree in communications or health care related field.
Completion of a medical interpreter skills training course including learning the code of ethics and standards of practice.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
