Job Description

A growing, well-established OB/GYN practice in Cookeville, TN is seeking a Full-Scope Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join its expanding team. The practice provides comprehensive women’s health services at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.

This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work alongside an experienced clinical team, including a physician, physician assistant, and nurse practitioner, with a goal of expanding to four full-time women’s health providers.

Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) – full-scope practice, certified and licensed

Practice provides services at Cookeville Regional Medical Center

Start date: As soon as possible

Experience preferred, but all qualified candidates will be considered (must have completed at least 50 deliveries to meet hospital credentialing requirements)

Spanish fluency highly preferred (approximately 10% Hispanic patient population)

Joining a collaborative team with Dr. Cassel, a PA, and an NP

On-call schedule: 2 days per week or approximately 10 days per month

No weekend call (covered through external arrangement)

Clinic schedule:

  • 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM if rounding at the hospital in the morning
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM for standard clinic days
  • Clinic closed for lunch from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

Patient volume: Approximately 25 patients per day

Appointment times:

  • 30 minutes for new patients and procedures
  • 15–20 minutes for established patients

Electronic Health Record: Currently using Prima, transitioning to Athena in May

Onboarding includes approximately 6 weeks for training and credentialing

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $90,000 annually
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus (paid quarterly over one year)
  • Shared call structure with no weekend call responsibilities
  • 120 hours PTO accrued annually + 6 paid holidays
  • Dental, vision, and 401(k) with 3% employer match
  • $540/month health insurance stipend (reimbursed expense)
  • Licensure and DEA fees covered
  • CME allowance: $1,000 annually

Qualifications

Board-certified and licensed Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)

Active Tennessee APRN license

MSN or DNP specializing in midwifery from an ACME-accredited program

AMCB certification required

Comfortable practicing full-scope midwifery

Strong commitment to collaborative, team-based care

Interest in long-term practice stability

Appreciation for working in a smaller community setting

Spanish-speaking ability is a plus
