Electrical Estimator | Commercial & Industrial Construction | Accubid

Our client is a well established and growing electrical contractor seeking to add an Electrical Estimator to its preconstruction team. Whether you are an experienced Electrical Estimator or an electrical project engineer transitioning into estimating, this position offers the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals while developing your estimating and preconstruction expertise.

Projects include Commercial Office Buildings, Industrial Facilities, Manufacturing Plants, Distribution & Fulfillment Centers, Warehouses, Healthcare Facilities, Institutional Buildings, Educational Facilities, Mission Critical & Data Centers. 

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive bid proposals for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
• Perform complete quantity takeoffs from electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Review electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts, power distribution, and equipment specifications.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontract pricing.
• Utilize estimating software including Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, OST (On-Screen Takeoff), Bluebeam, or similar estimating platforms.
• Participate in scope reviews, bid leveling, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Purchasing, and Field Operations.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as needed.
• Maintain historical cost databases and estimating documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, conceptual estimating, design-build proposals, negotiated work, and change order pricing.

Qualifications

• 1–5+ years of experience in electrical estimating, preconstruction, project engineering, or commercial electrical construction.
• Experience working for an electrical contractor is highly preferred.
• Electricians interested in transitioning into estimating are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to interpret electrical blueprints, specifications, one-line diagrams, and construction documents.
• Knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
• Familiarity with NEC requirements and accepted construction practices.
• Experience with Accubid preferred, ConEst, McCormick, OST / On-Screen Takeoff considered
• Bluebeam
• Excel, Microsoft Office
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
