We are under new ownership that is investing heavily into the team, the systems, and the products to take the business to the next level. Be a part of that ride with a great, humble team that takes tremendous pride in our work.

About The Role

As a Production Assembler at RACO, you will build finished units by hand following step-by-step work instructions. Our products run on proprietary software, so this role has two sides: physical assembly and software setup and configuration. No prior experience with our products or in manufacturing is required. What matters is that you are comfortable with computers, pay close attention to detail, and take pride in doing clean, consistent work.

What You Will Do

  • Assemble autodialer units and related equipment using hand tools, following written instructions and diagrams
  • Install wiring, connectors, circuit boards, and hardware components into chassis and enclosures
  • Perform basic electrical assembly including crimping, wire stripping, and light soldering
  • Use RACO's proprietary software to configure and program finished units
  • Program firmware onto ICs and run basic functional tests, recording results on build logs or traveler sheets
  • Inspect completed assemblies for visible defects, missing parts, or incorrect connections
  • Prepare components and organize materials before beginning each build
  • Keep your workstation clean and organized throughout the shift
  • Maintain accurate records of production quantities and time
  • Flag quality issues or defective parts to your supervisor promptly
  • Follow all safety guidelines

  • Able to follow written and visual work instructions carefully and consistently
  • Good hand-eye coordination and ease working with small parts and fine detail
  • Basic math skills: measuring, counting, reading part numbers
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality over speed
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to take direction
  • Professional and respectful communicator

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Any hands-on experience with electronics, wiring, or mechanical assembly
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, or crimping tools
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable sitting or standing at a workbench for extended periods
  • Able to handle small components and use fine motor skills throughout the shift
  • Good near vision (corrected is fine)
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs

Work Environment

This is an indoor, air-conditioned production floor in our West Berkeley facility. You will work alongside a small team in a focused, organized shop environment. We value quality over speed, especially while you are getting started.

Training

All new assemblers receive hands-on training from an experienced team member. Most people are building independently within a few weeks.

We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants of all backgrounds.
