Job Description

Position Summary:
The Senior Buyer is tasked with planning and purchasing materials to support the production schedule for new product launches and replenishment orders. This role involves close collaboration with distributors and manufacturers to ensure the timely supply of raw materials, meet customer deadlines, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Success in this position requires a combination of analytical thinking, strategic planning, and excellent communication skills to drive value and maintain a competitive edge in procurement activities.

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CSCP, ISM CPSM), highly desired
Experience:
  • 5–8 years of experience in chemical procurement or strategic sourcing within a manufacturing or industrial environment.Demonstrated ability to lead and manage others through influence and collaboration
  • Experience with New Production Introductions (NPI)
  • Experience in managing supply chain operations for product launches
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing orders and inventory
  • Proven ability to articulate value behind ideas to key stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent quality of work with accuracy
  • Exceptional ability to visualize expected outcomes before implementation to mitigate potential risks.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability to analyze and solve complex supply chain issues
  • Supplier relationship management, fostering productive partnerships and ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
  • Continuous improvement mindset
Technology/Software:
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems and demand forecasting
Communication:
  • Outstandingcommunication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders
  • Confident to present information, p roactive mindset with strong prioritization skills
Physical Capabilities:
Strength (lifting, dexterity, repetitive motion): able to use a computer extensively

Movement (standing, stopping, sitting, crouching, crawling): general movement in an office setting with extended time relating to sitting.

Hearing (loud noise tolerance, quiet work area, public speaking, receive work direction): normal sound volumes in office setting, some exposure to production floor environment which may be loud.

Vision (judge distance, read signs, extended computer work, identify details): able to read information, view a computer screen for extended time periods, and recognize hazards.
