Job Description

Salary: $105,100 - 140,900 per year Requirements:

  • We look for at least five years of game design or game development experience, or two complete project cycles.
  • We need expertise in two or more design disciplines such as combat, level, systems, progression, area, quest or mission, technical gameplay, encounter, or UI/UX design.
  • We expect working knowledge of game engines and game design tools, including Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines.
  • We value experience working across a range of game genres, modes, and styles.
  • We require the ability to travel domestically and a valid, current form of identification that meets travel requirements.
  • A bachelors degree or relevant experience in the gaming industry is preferred.
  • We particularly value leadership, mentorship, teaching, feedback, and conflict resolution experience.
  • Experience with licensed intellectual property, especially Disney-owned and 20th Century properties such as Alien, Predator, and The Simpsons, is preferred.
  • Experience working with external partners in licensing, publishing, marketing, and business development is preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • We partner closely with the Creative Lead to provide project feedback and help our external studios succeed with milestones, gates, and deadlines.
  • We review gameplay mechanics, systems, assets, milestone builds, and documentation to ensure brand alignment and quality approval.
  • We deliver ongoing feedback in different formats throughout the development cycle based on each projects needs.
  • We help studios uphold project pillars, identity, and conventions so the games feel on brand and strengthen our portfolio.
  • We serve as a dependable source of brand and gameplay guidance for the studios we work with.
  • We attend regular meetings and syncs with game directors, creative leads, gameplay leads, and other team members.
  • We support product managers with submission workflows, deadline tracking, project communication, and team responses to milestones and submissions.
  • We maintain and communicate internal standards and benchmarks for gameplay systems, features, and assets across projects.
  • We stay current on industry standards and evolving skill sets relevant to our slate of games.
