Tax Accountant

Are you a CPA or CPA-track tax professional looking for flexibility in your schedule? Do you want to work full-time during tax season but scale back — or even take time off — during the rest of the year?

An established professional services firm in the Southtowns of Western New York is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team in a flexible, seasonal-style role. This position offers an hourly range of $25–$28 per hour, depending on experience, along with bonus opportunities.

This is a unique opportunity to work full-time during busy season (January–April) and transition to a reduced schedule or time off during the remainder of the year.

This is an on-site position in Buffalo, NY

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual (1040), partnership, and corporate tax returns
• Assist with tax planning and advisory services
• Work directly with clients to gather financial information
• Support tax compliance and reporting processes
• Maintain accurate documentation and client records
• Assist with advisory and accounting support as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• CPA or CPA track required
• 1+ year of tax or accounting experience preferred – not required
• Strong understanding of tax preparation and compliance
• Excellent attention to detail and organization
• Ability to work independently and manage workload during peak season

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $25–$28/hr + bonus opportunities

Schedule & Location

• In-office role during busy season in Southtowns, NY
• Fridays off outside of tax season
