UFCW 3000 is a strong and dynamic union committed to transforming workplaces and society through organizing. With over 50,000 members working in retail, grocery, healthcare, cannabis, food processing, and other industries across Washington state, north-east Oregon, and north Idaho, our local is a progressive force. Our commitment to organizing non-union workplaces is rooted in our belief that through the collective power of working people, the members of UFCW 3000, and our communities, we organize for a world where we all thrive regardless of where we come from, what we look like, or where we live.
Inequality is still deepening in our society, but working people are fighting back and winning. Are you ready to join the movement of workers who are winning respect and dignity through action?
UFCW 3000 is looking for individuals who are passionate about fighting for justice for workers to join our organizer-in-training program in Washington and North Idaho. Start date is flexible. Organizing experience is neither required nor preferred, only a willingness to learn and grow. Good candidates will be both flexible and dedicated.
As an Organizer-in-Training , you will receive comprehensive training from UFCW 3000 and the Inside Organizer School, including a classroom component covering history, theory, and tactics, ongoing mentorship, training, and support, and a field placement on an active organizing campaign where you will develop your skills and get a first-hand understanding of organizing work.
In this role, you will take on corporate power in essential industries by building worker-led committees. You will learn how to organize people to stand up for their rights and maintain their motivation in the struggle for social justice.
UFCW 3000’s objective is not only to grow the labor movement, but to train effective progressive leaders and organizers who can develop strategic campaigns to change the balance of power in society for good.
