As a Certified Welding Inspector, you'll help ensure structural steel fabrication and welding projects meet quality standards while developing additional inspection skills through on-the-job training.
You will:
Perform visual weld inspections according to AWS standards and project requirements
Inspect structural steel fabrication processes for quality compliance
Review blueprints, weld symbols, WPS documents, and fabrication drawings
Maintain inspection reports and quality documentation
Collaborate with project managers, fabrication personnel, and field teams
Support a strong culture of safety and quality
Receive training and mentorship in additional NDT inspection methods
Support projects throughout Tigard and the greater Portland area

Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
Experience in structural steel fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or industrial environments
Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 standards
Ability to read fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols
Strong communication and organizational skills
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality workmanship
Valid driver's license
Ability and willingness to learn NDT inspection methods and certifications
Experience performing weld inspections in fabrication or structural steel environments
Exposure to QA/QC processes and documentation
AWS D1.5 or D1.8 experience
Experience with public works, infrastructure, or large-scale fabrication projects
NDT certifications are welcome but not required
